The Center on Media and Child Health (CMCH) is a project of Children's Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard School of Public Health.
Bringing a uniquely interdisciplinary approach to bear on the health effects of media, CMCH’s pediatricians, psychologists, teachers, parents, media producers and other stakeholders are collaborating to offer the public what science can teach us about the positive and negative effects of media – so we can all enjoy media thoughtfully, safely and in good health.
Using the remarkable resources of Children’s Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard School of Public Health, we are collecting and analyzing scientific data on the ways in which media affect us, especially the youngest and most vulnerable. We use these data to help parents and children make informed risk-benefit decisions about their media use and to direct interventions where problems are found.
