Good article, except for the suggestion to give your toddler a tub of water while you shower! Please, please, do not give a young child water when you are not watching them EVERY SECOND! So, so dangerous!

You're almost on the right track. With my son I took the time to include him in work activities. He did whatever he could do. At six months he'd sit in one half of a divide sink full of soapy water and he'd wash what ever you'd hand him. It required a lot of patience in the beginning but now he's pretty good help and likes to help. Make up songs or stories together about your work, while you work. It's a time tested tradition.
